COVID-19 has upended healthcare across the globe. We know you are facing disruption in ways previously unimaginable.

During this time, we have been listening closely to identify ways we can support your needs without being intrusive. If you are seeking a quick way to create digital connections with unconnected facilities to easily exchange clinical information, our solutions can be configured with minimal IT support. Our solutions provide exchange for episodic care as well as longitudinal record collection for ongoing monitoring and management. This is especially helpful for respiratory conditions like COVID-19 where historical clinical data and medical imaging are essential for effective care before hospitalization and in post-acute settings. Whatever your specific needs may be, we are highly focused on ensuring there is no interruption to your network connection.

Thank you to everyone working tirelessly to battle this pandemic. I hope you find value in this issue of Life Image Network News featuring the latest solution enhancements and launches prioritized by feedback from our customers.

Life Image Patient Connect Portal

Comprehensive medical data and diagnostic images are critical to diagnosis, treatment, therapy evaluation, and post-acute patient monitoring. Access to this data, however, has been traditionally challenging.

Life Image developed the Patient Connect Portal as the result of broad needs in the market and among our own customers for a solution that combines both diagnostic images with clinical data for a more clinically meaningful picture of a patient’s history. It resolves common clinical needs:

  • Complex and chronic conditions where imaging is especially important, such as respiratory, oncology, neurology, and muscular-skeletal disorders.
  • Emergency care when time is critical and medical history is important. During the pandemic, access to a patient’s history of chronic conditions improves care, and having it available digitally reduces infection spread through physical formats of records.
  • Across dispersed care teams. Regardless of where a patient treats, records can be uploaded to the portal and shared. Patients often see multiple doctors across different organizations. Compiling records in one digital location improves care coordination.

In addition to the immediate need of sharing advanced data, there is a rise in consumer demand to make healthcare more digital, and new federal mandates from ONC to break down barriers to interoperability to give patients control of their data. But still, according to a recent Life Image study, 40% of patients receive their medical images on a CD.

Patient Connect Portal is built on the foundation of Mammosphere, a scalable Life Image solution that helps women create a longitudinal record of their breast health. Click here for more about Patient Connect Portal.
