The initial release of lila provides hospitals and physician groups with a simple and reliable tool to view, store, and share the contents of incoming patient CDs throughout a healthcare enterprise. lila's capabilities will continuously expand, shortly allowing subscribers of the lifeIMAGE service to be able to communicate across institutions, and share results with outside referring physicians and patients, regardless of location.
Available now, the enterprise version of lila equips a physician, or a group of physicians, and their assistants with Inboxes for uploading and viewing incoming patient CDs. The lifeIMAGE uploader bypasses the viewer on the CD, simplifying the process of uploading and viewing CDs, allowing less technically savvy front desk personnel and physicians' assistants to perform this task. In addition, physicians can nominate uploaded outside studies for import to the RIS/PACS. Users can conveniently share exams with others within their network. Physicians can incorporate exams into teaching and educational materials, and create personal libraries of imaging data that can be tagged and indexed.
