Introducing lifeIMAGE Connections – Details and How to Get Started
lifeIMAGE Connections is our new service that allows hospitals, groups, individual physicians and patients to create network profiles, search for one another, and form one-time or persistent associations in order to securely exchange medical information. It uses familiar and social workflow for initiating, managing and approving requests – the feedback from its debut at RSNA was that it looks like the "LinkedIn of Imaging." That analogy is growing on us!
Connections is a milestone because it automates a critical, clinical communication step in the image exchange process. Today, a phone call is usually the starting point for an ad-hoc image transfer. When someone wants to send you a scan, they have to navigate your phone-based referral process. Now, that person can simply request a connection via your network profile. The appropriate staff at your facility receive requests, and have easy tools for approving and rejecting requests. As soon as a request is approved, the outside user receives instructions for uploading imaging.
Connections is a big step toward our goal of unobstructed image exchange. It adds a lot of clinical efficiency, and will also make it easier than ever for your high-end specialists to make themselves available for remote consultations or second opinions.
Connections will have an exciting impact on the lifeIMAGE products you use today. For example, the departments at your hospital that use ReferralBox can create network profiles and receive requests for one-time uploads. They can also add an "Upload images now" button to their webpage, letting everyone know they are available to receive referral imaging.
Current lifeIMAGE customers will be the first organizations that can take advantage of this new part of our network. In fact, customers with an enterprise-wide license for lifeIMAGE ReferralBox will have free access. There will be a few things for you to configure before you can get started. We will hold a product launch webinar later this spring. Register here, and we will update you when the date is confirmed.
