How lifeIMAGE works

Our vision is to design a versatile universal Inbox for diagnostic-quality imaging data. Inboxes will be hosted in two types of environments. To start, physicians can use Inboxes that are hosted on their enterprise's lifeIMAGE Local Appliance (lila)™. lila‑based Inboxes are ideal places for uploading incoming patient CDs, teaching files, and non-radiology imaging data; and for collaborating with colleagues. The other hosting option, cloud-based Inboxes, are ideal for sharing exams and reports with referring physicians and patients. Each hospital or imaging center-based lila can publish imaging information to patient or referring physician Inboxes. In a highly secure environment, lifeIMAGE.com will facilitate access control, sharing, HIPAA compliance, identity management, backups, and integration with EMRs and PHRs.
How lifeIMAGE Works

When used as an enterprise system, lila functions as an image and information gateway. Its comprehensive workflow automates viewing, storing, and sharing imaging data for individual physicians, including nominating incoming patient CDs to be linked to RIS/PACS. At the outgoing end, the facility can augment or replace the practice of publishing CDs for patients and referring physicians. Patients and physicians can receive their results in a secure and universal Inbox.

After patients or referring physicians receive their first imaging result on lifeIMAGE.com, other imaging sites can forward results to the established Inbox. Even studies stored at imaging sites that do not yet have a lila can be forwarded to the patient’s Inbox using the lifeIMAGE Uploader tool.
